Merry Christmas
We feel especially blessed this Christmas. It was wonderful to celebrate the birth of baby Jesus in the peace and quiet of our home with our daughters.
May God bless you and your family each and every day.

Merry Christmas
We feel especially blessed this Christmas. It was wonderful to celebrate the birth of baby Jesus in the peace and quiet of our home with our daughters.
May God bless you and your family each and every day.
Some presents are a bit more special than others.
Ella’s special present this Christmas was a new, bright red “iPhone”.
Ella really enjoys texting and FaceTime with her family and friends.
If you would like to text or FT with Ella, leave a comment below or contact us. (Fair Warning: You may receive a Tsunami of texts and FT calls)
Ella momentarily broke her strict social distancing protocols to welcome Josh back home to Kailua after another training deployment.
Josh, you are the BEST!
We all love you.
Semper Fi
Nearly every afternoon, Ella takes Papa and Roxy out for a spin in the Jeep.
We usually depart around 17:00 (5:00 pm) and head South to the “Lanikai Loop.” Spotify provides the tunes and Ella and Papa “sing” along.
This daily routine provides a much-needed break from the isolation of social distancing and 1L studies.
Mrs. Pike, Demetria Heyfron, and Bernice Courtney are pictured (l to r) above. The photo was taken on Kailua Beach, Oahu, Hawaii ~ probably in the late 1950s or early 1960s.
Demetria is Lucy, Ella, and Olivia’s Great Grandmother (maternal). Bernice is Demetria’s older sister.
This photo is special to us for a number of reasons – we have lived in Kailua since 2003. We consider Kailua Beach to be our “home beach”. Demetria lived on Oahu from 1947 to 1964.
We just discovered this photo while going through old photos during the COVID-19 lockdown.
Bernice Kenck: 27 Feb 1902 – 20 Apr 1998
Demetria Kenck: 20 Jul 1904 – 06 Jul 1994
Mrs. “Diggy” Pike was a friend of Demetria.
Bev, Tony and Tony’s Shipmates on liberty in Waikiki
The photo was taken in the Waikiki Tavern
The Waikiki Tavern – located at 2427 Kalakaua Ave – was directly above the gift shop that Beverly owned and operated.
The location is now home to the Honolulu Police, Waikiki Precinct.
14 months ago we welcomed Yana to help puppy raise for Assistance Dogs of Hawaii. With the lockdown firmly in place we were lucky enough to have her for an extra few months but this week she flew back to Maui to start advanced training. Good luck Yana you are an awesome dog!! Miss you.
After something like three decades in drydock…
Lucy and Papa relaunched the ancient Snark Sunflower sailboat from MCBH Kaneohe marina for a 25-minute shakedown cruise.
Much to Mum’s relief, both of her sailors returned to shore safely.
Today is the first day of Mayor Caldwell’s Stay at Home Order for COVID-19.
Luckily, dog walking is deemed an essential activity.
Here’s a bit of “Stay at Home” fun that Papa had with Lisa.
Thanks for being a good sport Mum.
Today we departed Heidi’s lovely home and headed for Crystal Mountain Ski Resort. It was an exciting drive – in part because it was the first time Ella and Olivia experienced snow
After much hard work and dedication, Olivia earned the right to flip her Hapkido belt from “red over black” to “black over red”.
Olivia will likely test for BLACK BELT sometime this summer (2020).
We are so very proud of Olivia’s unwavering commitment to achieve this challenging goal.
Well done!
Lisa, Lucy, Ella, and Olivia took Roxy and Yana out for a beach adventure on the first day of 2020.
We greet 2020 with mixed emotions, as both Yana and
Lucy will depart home to pursue their respective academic goals.
Yana will probably head to Assistance Dogs of Hawaii on Maui in February.
Lucy’s destination will be revealed in the not too distant future!
